Your vehicle’s AC not working is caused by a freon leak or a bad compressor. Though these might be the easy to spot reasons for your AC not working inside the vehicle, a dirty cabin filter or a bad belt may also be the culprit. Whenever you’ll need that cool air, it won’t be possible if there’s a freon leak occurring. Another source for your AC not producing cold air is that your car is a hybrid. The air-conditioning system is powered by the engine, meaning if your car is in EV mode then the engine will stop running and not power the AC.
If your AC is turned on but the fan isn’t working then you may have a defective air-conditioning fuse. These fuses help protect car components from a possible power surge and even though it may just need to be repaired, if your AC fuse keeps popping then you likely have a larger issue. When your AC is pumping cold air into your car, it needs to displace all the moisture it’s absorbed from outside and should leave down the evaporator drain pipe. You should also have an eye out for faulty seals in the air-conditioner compartment or the AC’s air filters just in case this problem continues to happen.
